There Was A Star
Down the lonely lane I walk My hands tucked close inside The winter night was cold & gray I hung my head and cried. No more was our Mother here And Dad was not close by Then our brother left too soon Why did he have to die? It makes no sense to me at all Unfair is what it seems Christmas time is family based It's our traditional means. "What was that?"...it's way up high And shines a glowing light? The star that guides you where you go And leads you safe in night. A ray came down and kissed my cheek And told me of it's meaning... It's not about me but "Christ the Child" "It's His birthday!" the star said beaming. Come and gather in His name Without Him Christmas would not be! Hallelujah! We have a King! Go now, create your own memory. Jut like those before you did Honor them in prayer and song And to Jesus forever and always be true! Your heart will no longer long!
